Antique Franconia Notch, New Hampshire, Old Man of the Mountain souvenir pitcher. This iconic figure..a natural rock formation formed millions of years ago became New Hampshire's symbolic tourist destination in one of the most scenic area's of the country. From weather changes and weight, the "Old Man" began slowly falling apart section by section and was held together by rods and chains for years. He finally gave way several years ago...and to the heartbreak of all New Englanders is now lost forever. For those of us who have actually seen him from his mountain top he was a sight to behold. This attractive souvenir pitcher was saved after a family vacation sometime after the turn of the century. Measures 3 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide including the handle. There is some gold loss on the trim, no chips or cracks.
