Description
Purple Bell Vine, Chocolate VineRhodochiton atrosanguineus is a herbaceous ornamental perennial vine native to Mexico. The vine can reach three metres in length in perfect conditions, but more-likely 1.5-2.5 metres. The seeds are 3mm across. Another common name is purple bell vine or simply purple bell.
R. atrosanguineus has gained the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit. This plant is undemanding if given full sun or near-full sun, well-drained soil, and general care. It will tolerate cold temperatures, but not freezing. It might or might not become deciduous, depending on winter temperatures.
Plants can be pruned in late winter to manage size and shape.
Germination
Propagation is by seed sown in spring, or at about 64F (18 °C).

Combined flat-rate shipping, as many items as you would like, or multiples of the same item! The cart will combine shipping for you.
International shipping: All countries outside of Canada require a seed inspection and a phytosanitary certificate, which is included in the cost of shipping. For USA orders we use this paperwork to get your order over the border (you will not see the certificate as it is taken at the border). Outside of North America, you will see the certificate arrive with your order. Though these certificates are costly, our customers tell us that they appreciate the option to order from us.
